Privacy Policy

This explains what Interstellar Software collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: as little as possible, and never your email address unless you pay us.

What we collect

When you sign in with Discord

We request the identify scope only. That gives us your Discord user ID, username and avatar. We do not request your email address, your servers, your messages, or your friends.

When you use the launcher

  • Your chosen Interstellar username and display name.
  • Your friends list, favourites, and pending friend requests.
  • Presence — whether you are online, in the launcher or in game, and which room you are in. Visible only to friends you have accepted, and only while you have an active Pro subscription.
  • Which mod versions you have installed, so updates can be offered.

When you subscribe

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details never reach us. Stripe collects your email address and billing address — the address is needed to work out VAT — and holds them under its own privacy policy. We store only Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and when it renews.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • We do not run advertising or third-party trackers on this site.
  • We do not read your Discord messages or record anything you say in game.
  • Clips you capture stay on your own computer. We never receive them.

Who we share it with

Three processors, each doing one job:

  • Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in.
  • Stripe — processes payments.
  • Cloudflare — serves this website.

Other than that, we disclose data only if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and we remove your profile, friends and presence. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically six years, and this is the one thing deleting your account does not erase.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we will action it.

Children

Interstellar is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
